Biography

Rich, Senior Principal, past President and Emeritus Board Member, has spent more than 38 years with RNL. Rich was elected into the AIA College of Fellows, the AIA’s highest honor, given to only five percent of the profession. He is also both a former Colorado Architect of the Year and Denver Chapter AIA Architect of the year. Rich has spent the last 45 years planning, designing and leading projects with the goal of making communities stronger. His work on projects ranging from urban design and transportation to mixed-use urban architecture, master planning, and sustainable architecture are all marked by a strong sense of place. Rich’s advocacy for urbanism, and quality design has carried over to his involvement in professional and community organizations. He is currently on the Board of Historic Denver, the Board of the Denver Civic Center Conservancy, the Board of Governors for the Taubman College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Michigan, the Chancellor’s Development Committee at CU Denver, the Chair of the College of Architecture and Planning Advisory Board at UCD, and was previously on the Executive Committee of the Colorado District of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
