Lindsey’s interior design experience spans 17 years in the Denver design community including starting her own firm in 2009, but that is not what she is at DDW to talk about. In 2013, she and some comrades struck out to find a new venue to apply their skills in service to a new clientele. They ended up in a small village in rural Nepal. Realizing that by applying design thinking she could make a profound impact there, she founded the innovative nonprofit NIVAS to serve at-risk communities in their goal to build safe housing for all. In its six years, NIVAS has effected the lives and homes of over 2,500 people. Lindsey serves as executive director, balancing project logistics, future visioning, and getting it all funded.
