Biography

Jason P. Belaire is a design strategist + industrial designer working with domestic and international brands to develop new sustainable processes and creation of design cultures that will lead into greater supported company influence as well as result in higher growth rates.  He also specializes in customized internal auditing assessments + measures to ensure that each department is connecting to a cohesive Design Thinking language, adoptable to all facets of a company structure, taking inspiration from various sustainable measures and innovative practices such as circular design and triple bottom line (Planet, People and Profit).

As a result of seeing the lack of innovation in the outdoor space, 10 years ago, he started the first ever Trend and Design Center for the world’s largest outdoor industry trade show; OUTDOOR RETAILER, which runs 2x’s per year. Here he has been able to bring, through his extensive diverse network, various outside resources and speakers to educate the designer community to be empowered and to lead to greater more impactful conversations translating into innovation. Lessing the impact of wasteful product that will eventually lead to greater landfill contributions.

Jason has researched and developed the first of its kind speaker series on emotional intelligence (EQ) and how it pertains to the creative process, leading into innovation. In this series, he reveals practical methods and measures to grow creative cultures from a bottom up approach. Having given this presentation domestically and internationally, the entire series is based on how to understand and dig deeper as individuals/designers into our personal psychology to inevitably create more meaningful and innovative outputs, leading to better designed, longer lasting and truly sustainable products.

During his tenure as Executive Director – Denver Design Week, he specifically focused on user experience for the design community, curating much of the content around process development with-in various industries such as Industrial Design, Experience Design, UX/UI and Technology/Innovation start-ups.

Before being elected as IDSA’s incoming chair (2020 to 2024), during his tenure as Director At Large – Conferences, Jason helped develop the new International Design Conference for IDSA and has lead the speaker/content development efforts that translated into a successful model which sold out in year two since it’s inception. This effort has proved to enhance the IDSA brand conference portfolio and also aided in strengthening the relevancy and overall perception of the organization.

As a legacy building effort for IDSA, Jason created and assembled the team that has lead to this year’s 2020 inaugural Deep Dive on Sustainability, originally meant to be in-person, but due to covid-19, having to pivot to virtual last minute. Strategically aligning with Stephan Clambaneva, IDSA as co-organizer and official emcee, the two of them developed all content and curated experiences and as a result, are pleased to announce that we had over 600 people attend spanning across the globe.
