Biography
“I’m a Creative Director specialized in aligning business, brand strategy through iconic illustration, storytelling, and typographic excellence. An award-winning visual strategist with a passion for simplifying, clarifying, and amplifying brand experiences people love.
I graduated from Havana’s Design School (ISDI), left the country, and have lived in St. Louis Louis since 2006. I’m a former President of AIGA St. Louis and currently serve as a board member for Lambert International Airport Art Advisory Committee and the Tennessee Williams Festival. I cherish a fondness for poster design, Russian cartoons, propaganda art, and cigars -Cubans or not.
My illustrations have been published by The New York Times, the New York Observer, The Boston Globe, Ad Age, American Lawyer, The Wall Street Journal, Alive, and St. Louis Magazine. My work has been awarded by American Illustration, 3×3 Illustration Annuals, the Society of Illustrators, and Creative Review. My Cinco de Mayo poster was part of LOS DIEZ, an itinerary art show with the top ten best Latino illustrations in 2018. Communication Arts featured my work in the Typography and Illustration Annuals 2017 and 2019. Recent collaborations include Nespresso’s Cafecito de Cuba Drink It All In campaign in 2020.”
