The City in NatureElevating the Urban Landscape
Architecture, Landscape, Municipality
Purchase TicketsDenver has emerged as a city to watch for its sustainable urban initiatives, including most recently the Denver Green Roof Initiative. Designers are taking time to engage in meaningful discourse on what initiatives like these mean for design, and what Denver can learn from its past to help inform its future. Join John McIntyre, ANZIA, principal at Tryba Architects, for a discussion of the city’s evolution as it relates to the past, present and future of Denver’s urban green spaces. Using case studies from a vareity of Tryba’s projects — including Denver’s Botanic Gardens, Google’s Boulder headquarters, and BP’s Lower 48 Headquarters on Platte Street — McIntyre will examine the social and economic value of place-making, and explore the practice’s belief in the critical integration of architecture and landscape.
