SOAPBOX! Cocktails & Conversationsabout the Future of Public Space
Purchase TicketsListen. Engage. Debate. Hosted at the Pink House, a collaborative design space in the Golden Triangle, this presentation by Civitas and Arch11 will bring together local experts from a range of design fields (architecture, landscape architecture, planning, industrial design, lighting, and public art) to hypothesize and debate the future of the public realm.
Civitas is based on the ancient idea of people meeting, exchanging ideas, and building community around shared resources. As new technologies are introduced to cities that alter the way we view and use public space, and as these advancements increase in frequency, how will the public realm continue to adapt and change?
In this session, organized as an interactive conversation, invited speakers will “get up on a soapbox” and share their perspective on urban public space and how their work contributes to future civic life. These discussions will be moderated by Scott Jordan (Civitas) and Ken Andrews (Arch11), followed by a happy hour with themed cocktails and refreshments.
