A temporary micro-cinema on wheels designed by Denver-based Sort Studio will host an intimate screening of Denver Design Week speaker Doug Wilson’s documentary Linotype: The Film. This feature-length documentary centered around the Linotype type casting machine. Called the “Eighth Wonder of the World” by Thomas Edison, it revolutionized printing and society. The film tells the charming and emotional story of the people connected to the Linotype and how it impacted the world. Screening will include Director’s introduction and Q&A.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Doug Wilson is a designer, typographer, art director, filmmaker, and cyclist. In 2012, Doug directed the feature-length documentary “Linotype: The Film” which has screened internationally.
Brian Dale is a founding Principle of Sort Studio, a Denver-based multidisciplinary design practice for innovative and environmentally responsive architecture + design. Sort Studio is a platform for exploring form and materials, adapting built environments and creating responsive and responsible structures. Prior to moving back to Denver to launch Sort Studio, Brian was an Associate with Zaha Hadid Architects in London, leading design teams for the Sleuk Rith Institute in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and KAPSARC in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Meredith Dale is a founding Principle of Sort Studio, a Denver-based multidisciplinary design practice for innovative and environmentally responsive architecture + design. Sort Studio is a platform for exploring form and materials, adapting built environments and creating responsive and responsible structures. Meredith’s materials-led design methodology explores the intersection between craft and digital fabrication within design and architecture. Her deep knowledge of techniques and love of the hand-made are essential components of her approach to form and detail.
