ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Rick Sommerfeld is an assistant professor of architecture and Director of Colorado Building Workshop, the design build program at CU Denver, where he has built 10 community projects in Colorado and, in collaboration with DesignBuildBLUFF, five charitable homes in Southern Utah. His projects have won more than 20 awards from organizations like AIA and have been featured in Dwell, Design Boom, Modern in Denver, and ArchDaily. Rick’s professional design practice, the3rdspace, specializes in innovative residential and small commercial design.
Bill Moore is the Founder and President of Sprocket Design Build. A licensed architect, building contractor, and NCARB member, Bill is responsible for architecture and/or construction services for more than 60 projects in Colorado, California, North Carolina, and Idaho.
A registered architect and seasoned craftsman, Jordan Vaughn began designing and making things professionally at a young age. The founder of several local design businesses, including Vonmod, The Maker Lab, and Von Design, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, as well as an immense reserve of creative energy.
Mike Blea is the Co-­Founder and Senior Design Principal of Raw Creative. He is a licensed general contractor and is currently seeking his architectural license. His focus is on merging design, construction, and custom fabrication into a seamless process. His background includes digital design + manufacturing, construction management, MIG/TIG welding, cabinetry, GFRC concrete, and a range of fine carpentry.
Breton Lujan is the Co-­Founder and a Senior Design Principal at Raw Creative. His focus is on custom fabrication and its implementation into simple, modern design. His background in fabrication includes metal work, fine carpentry, and GFRC concrete. Lujan is currently pursuing his architectural license.
