Designing the South Platte River:Past, Present, and Future Presented by ULI Colorado
It’s commonly said that all great cities have great rivers. How can we emphasize the great river here in Denver and make it a desired setting where people want to play, live, and work? Join ULI Colorado’s Discovery Committee for a bike and scooter tour of the South Platte River that considers the context of its past, present, and importantly, the potential of its future. Historically, Denver has turned its back to the South Platte River, but this event will explore how we can design a city, through development projects and conservation efforts, that opens its doors to this great natural asset. Several key leaders in various sectors of development who are involved in the effort to restore the life and value of the South Platte River will speak, and at each stop in the tour participants will have the opportunity to learn about specific efforts taking place to design with the riverscape in mind.
