Denver Women in Design:A Celebration In Honor Of Florence Knoll’s 100th Birthday

Denver Design Week celebrates her 100th birthday with this session exploring the history of Florence and the Knoll brand alongside a robust conversation about the state of women in Colorado Design.
A panel of women architects and interior designers, who continue to make their mark on Colorado’s design culture, will discuss where it is, where it is going and what could be focused on to make it better.
We’ll also have cocktails, cake and ice cream to celebrate Florence Knoll’s birthday and celebrate Denver Design Week.

Gillian Johnson is a designer with Burkett EUA. She has traveled extensively throughout her life and has studied art history and architecture in France and Italy, where she completed her Master’s degree in Architecture in an advanced design studio with Aldo Rossi. |
Lisa M. Abendroth is a Professor of Art and coordinator of the Communication Design program at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Over the last fifteen years Abendroth’s research has embodied community-centered public interest design focused on issues of social equity towards marginalized audiences. |
Jenny West is a LEED certified, licensed interior designer, PROSCI change management practitioner and Fitwel Ambassador. |
Amy Siegel’s client-centered approach combined with her extensive experience in many areas of graphic design, including environmental design, wayfinding, print collateral and branding and identity demonstrate a history of successful projects and relationships. This year, Amy received the AIGA Fellow Award, honoring her achievements in the design industry, as well as elevating design and the design community. |
