Fancy Brown Cow was launched in 2020 to showcase original art that is re-produced on a museum quality Giclée Printer.
The artist is Diane Brown (b. 1970) – a painter and cat lady. She grew up in Greeley, CO but lived in NYC, Paris, and London. She now lives in Denver. In the 6th grade art class in Greeley, she noticed that her drawing of her shoe was better than the other kids’ drawings of THEIR shoes so that’s how it all began.
She works in many media types including watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and oil. She likes to paint big originals and then reproduce those images on her large format giclée printer and animals are her favorite subject.
She studied surface pattern design (Liberal Arts-speak for Textiles) at Syracuse University finishing with a BFA in 1993. Her first job was as a wallpaper colorist for Waverly in NYC. She stayed in textiles design for nearly 10 years before moving on. After many years of painting for personal fun, she has decided to finally focus on her artwork as a full-time endeavor.
Because she was knee deep in color as a textiles designer, she carries forth her love of color in her art and nothing would make her happier than adding a little color to other people’s lives.
