Owner and chef Kathy Lee starts with organically grown produce from local trees, gardens, and farms, and simmers the small-batch jams in French copper pots in a Denver kitchen. Modern Gingham Preserves was a Martha Stewart American Made finalist in 2015 before their Raspberry Violet Preserves won a Good Food Award in 2016.
As a local expert on preservation, Kathy Lee teaches others how to can and preserve their own produce. This year, she will lead foraging tours for locals in the neighborhoods of Denver. Modern Gingham is always looking for the opportunity to pick fruit that might otherwise go to waste in exchange for jars of jam.
